Visionary Cities International Digital Short Film Competition Opens

In partnership with the Whitechapel Gallery, Vimeo, FLAMIN, FilmDirecting4Women, Alpha-ville invites you to submit your vision of our future. Open to moving image artists working across digital animation (2D and 3D), short film, stop-frame animation, CGI and motion graphics, we want you to present and share your ideas on a society that has yet to emerge

” Our cities are in crisis and their futures depend on architects and urbanists who are willing to look beyond today’s realities to drive the direction for our increasingly urban world. Contemporary city design is full of obstacles standing in the way of visionary thinking. It is time for us to take a position on how we want to live in the future…it is time for a visionary city”. (from the book “Visionary Cities” by The Why Factory, 2009).

This is your opportunity to have your work showcased as part of the Alpha-ville festival programme at London’s iconic Whitechapel Gallery. With an industry renowned panel of judges that currently include; Rebecca Page – Curator – Music and Live Words/Whitechapel Gallery, Tom Vaughan – Programming & Acquisitions/Future Shorts, Ruth Torjussen – Founder of Filmdirecting4women and Olivia Bellas – Independent Film & Arts Producer and more to be confirmed deciding the shortlist, the five finalists will then go on to a public vote through the online platform Vimeo.com for the Audience Choice Award.
