ALPHA-VILLE IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

2012 has been a busy year for the Alpha-ville team. In the last months the preparations were slowed down due to delays and shortage in funding from various sources, both public and private. After analysing the situation carefully, we have identified that these issues will affect the delivery and quality of the festival. For these reasons we have decided that it is not viable to run the festival as planned for October 2012.

Although the annual festival has been cancelled this year , the organisation will still be going ahead with a series of individual events. Alpha-ville LIVE is the first carefully crafted event and it is dedicated to exploring the interaction between electronic music, visual performances and other cultural practices.

Taking place on Saturday 6th October at the iconic Hackney Empire, the unique programme will feature the London premiere of the collaboration between Murcof & AntiVJ alongside an intimate live solo by The Field and a full audio-visual experience by Raster Noton’s label co-owner Byetone.

Alpha-ville Screening is the second event taking place at the Hackney Picturehouse on the same day. It will feature the latest in moving image including animation, experimental, interactive, video art, documentary and music video.

If you submitted a proposal (standard programme or moving image) we are sending individual emails to each participants, please get in touch with [email protected] if you haven’t heard from us. We are only going ahead with the Future of Moving Image Award and submissions are open until 5th August.

Info and tickets are available here: https://www.alphavillefestival.co.uk/alpha-ville-live-at-hackney-empire/

We hope to see you there and also at the other Alpha-ville events: online with picks of the week and the Alpha-ville podcast series as well as other live upcoming events.

Please stay tuned in to our network.

All our best,

The Alpha-ville Directors
