FraMEShift

Pick of the week #69

FraMEShift is an interactive dance performance directed and choreographed by Renata Sheppard, produced by VR&MMP and performed by dancers Lu-Kai Huang, Tzu-Ying Ho, Yin-Guan Huang and Vanessa Michielon. It was premiered in July 2012 in Turin during the Teatro a Corte Festival.

The project brings together several disciplines: dance, new media art, music and design to investigate of the relationship between humans and machines and how far it can go. Using two symbolic characters: a person and a robot, the piece raises questions about the never ending technological advances and what will be the limits between humans and machines (transhumans).

The performance involved:
SOUND SCAPES
A ROBOT
STOP MOTION VIDEOS
3D ELEMENTS
VIDEOGAME

Watch the video below, even if short it provides a good feeling of the outcome of this rich exploration, breaking boundaries and opening doors.
