Stone Spray is a research project by Petr Novikov, Inder Shergill and Anna Kulik of the University of Advanced Architecture in Catalonia, Spain. Inspired in previous projects such as Solar Sinter, that was one of the highlights of 3D printing in 2011, the project wants to push the boundaries of digital manufacturing and explore the possibilities of onsite manufacturing machines. In this case the design uses a robotic arm, a jet spray system and soil as the main component.
The creators have written an ebook explaining the concept, challenges and process. You can check it here.
